Hacienda at DC Ranch
“The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thanksgiving week is nearly upon us, and we have quite a lot on our plates here at Camelot Homes (pardon the pun). Having just completed another spectacular custom home just in time for the holiday week, we have kitchens on our mind. When building a luxury home, kitchen design is paramount and for anyone who does much entertaining, it goes without saying that the kitchen really is the heart of the home. Particularly this time of year, it is the place where people gather to share stories, share meals and where memories are made with the children and grandchildren.
Moving into a new home, or in this case breaking in a new kitchen, is a bit like seasoning a cast-iron pan. It is perfectly pristine when new, but becomes better with use. It is the friends and family who frequent the home, which make it perfect. The funny stories and memories of overly cooked turkeys, engagement announcements or reunions with loved ones from far away that make a holiday memorable.

Although building the home that encases these memories is what we do at Camelot, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what it is that makes the house become a home- it is the family who frequents it…

So from our family to yours, wishing everyone a beautiful, messy Thanksgiving!
